Willie Watson is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, USA, but
that was a very long time ago. He has lived in New York City, Seattle
and Los Angeles, as well as Israel, France (Paris), Wales and England
(London). Throughout his rather erratic course of studies, he has majored
in linguistics and journalism. In addition to English, he speaks (badly)
French, Hebrew, Spanish, Italian and German and is struggling to learn
Czech. He is the author of two volumes of poetry, "Poems from Prague"
and "The Guru Kalehuru and Other Poems." He has lived in Prague
since March of 1998.
Helena Watson is originally from Nova Paka, and moved to Prague
to attend Charles University in 1994, where she majored in Spanish Language
and Spanish and South American Literature. She was working at Berlitz
Language Schools in 2000, teaching Czech, Polish and Spanish when she
met Willie at a friend's birthday party. She is the schools administrator
and also does translations (see Translation
services).
