What does "unlimited" mean?

It means that you can come to class every day to any lesson which corresponds with the level of your English. We really do recommend that you come frequently, because each time you are in class reinforces what you have already learned, and gives you less time between classes to forget. One English lesson a week is not enough, as the average person can forget more in one week than they can learn in one hour.

Can I just pay by the lesson?

You can. The price is 200 CZK per hour (60 min.) in English courses.

How many students are in a class?

We try to keep it below 8. The average number of the students in the groups is 4 - 6.

How can I know for certain if it is a good school?

If you like, you can come in for a free sample lesson and see if you like it. Every student has a different style of learning, and perhaps our school is not right for everybody. We are confident, however, that you will be pleasantly surprised.

How well qualified are your teachers?

Very well qualified. We take great care in the hiring of teachers to give you people who are intelligent, speak clearly, and speak a little bit or are learning Czech. You can see more information in the "About Us"section.

Do you teach any other languages besides English?

We have Czech classes for foreigners, but that's all. That's why it's called "Watson's School of English" and not "Watson's Language School."

Can I have individual lessons?

Yes. It is somewhat more expensive - see Pricelist.

Will a teacher come to our firm?

We can send a teacher to your firm, or home, or wherever you would like to study.

I am a complete beginner, and I would like to have a native Czech English teacher. Is that possible?

Yes, we can arrange that.

What books do you use?

For grammar, we use Raymond Murphy's "Essential Grammar in Use," And "English Grammar in Use" To increase vocabulary and practice reading, we use, predominantly, the Oxford Bookworms Library series, which are novels in English simplified for students. That, however, is only the beginning. After that, we use a wide range of other books and magazines.

What other teaching materials do you use?

We use some games which we have developed ourselves, picture books, children's books and Pexeso cards for beginners, and a whole lot of conversation.

When do courses begin?

Whenever you are ready. If you pay for one month, for instance, on the 16th of October, then your course will run to the 16th of November.

How will I know if I am making progress?

This is explained in detail in the "method" section, but basically, we test you regularly and keep track of your scores. If you attend class regularly, and are serious about learning English, there is little doubt that your speaking and writing skills will improve significantly in a very short time.

Besides the classes, what else can you do to help me with English?

You may borrow books, many of which are from the same series we use in classes, to read at home.
Also, through this Web site, you can get answers to any questions you might have about vocabulary or grammar, or help with the proper wording of CV's or other business documents, e-mails, or anything else you need to write in English (see "Ask us!").
